DIRECTRX PHARMACY ANNOUNCES DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT ACCREDITATION THROUGH NABP

TROY, MICH., May, 2009 – DirectRx, an independent, specialty pharmacy based in Troy, Mich., today announced it has been awarded accreditation by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) through the Association’s durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) accreditation program. The announcement was made by Amanda Zawaideh, PharmD, of DirectRx.

DirectRx is one of only three NABP-accredited pharmacies in Michigan. NABP offers independent and impartial accreditation services and is the only pharmacy-specific organization approved for DMEPOS accreditation. The program ensures that suppliers of DMEPOS products meet the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) quality and accreditation standards.

“As a family-owned business, owned and operated by doctors of pharmacy, we are proud to receive this accreditation,” said Amanda Zawaideh, PharmD, of DirectRx. “With more than 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, the leadership team at DirectRx is experienced, innovative and accessible to our patients. We have worked hard to ensure that our company fulfills the requirements set forth by the NABP, and we look forward to maintaining and exceeding those expectations in the future. Through this accreditation, DirectRx is confident that our patients receiving Medicare benefits will continue to receive the appropriate products and services, along with our personal pharmacist consultations, training and commitment to superior care,” she added.”

The NABP accreditation is based upon a stringent review process of both supplier business service requirements and product-specific requirements. Business service requirements include a thorough and ongoing review of DirectRx administration, financial management, human resources management, consumer services, performance management, product safety and information management. Product-specific requirement criteria includes detailed evaluations of company intake and assessment, delivery and setup, training/instructions to beneficiary and/or caregivers and follow-up procedures.

Products and services covered by the MDEPOS and offered by DirectRx include:

• DME

• Medical supplies

• Therapeutic shoes

• Prosthetic devices, prosthetics, and orthotics
